Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship must fulfill the following requirements:

  • MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.

  • MD/MS/DNB in Ophthalmology or an equivalent postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology.

  • Valid medical council registration from their native country, with the registration validity extending beyond the course completion date.

The Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship at Kapil Eye Hospital is crafted to empower ophthalmologists with in-depth expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of childhood eye diseases. This structured program ensures comprehensive clinical, diagnostic, and surgical training, offering fellows valuable hands-on experience in a high-volume, real-world practice environment.

Fellowship Agenda: What You Will Learn:

  • In-depth training in diagnosing and managing amblyopia, strabismus, ROP, pediatric glaucoma, and refractive errors

  • Exposure to pediatric neuro-ophthalmology and optic nerve disorders

  • Hands-on experience with advanced diagnostic tools including OCT, B-scan ultrasound, visual field testing, and electrophysiology

  • Participation in pediatric ocular surgeries, including squint correction and trauma management

  • Understanding of genetic eye diseases and training in genetic counseling

  • Collaborative approach involving pediatricians, neurologists, orthoptists, and vision therapists

  • Introduction to clinical research methodology and ethical practices in pediatric ophthalmology

  • Development of effective patient and parent counseling skills
